ITAFORUM 2009 in Berlin

This year, the ITAFORUM is dedicated to the subject of sustainability. With presentations, workgroups and a podium discussion, ITAFORUM 2009 will tackle the issue of what concrete contributions innovation and technology analysis can make to ensuring sustainable economic development. On November 12 in Workgroup 2, Dr. Axel Steinhage will give a presentation entitled "The floor thinks too – sensitive flooring to support independent living in old age."

BMBF-research project "SensFloor®" started

The research project "SensFloor®" (FKZ 16SV3936) funded by the German Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF) has started. Within this three years project, Future-Shape will develop applications for so-called "Ambient Assisted Living" based on the SensFloor® technology. Partners are the MEYER WERFT Papenburg, BASF SE Ludwigshafen and the Universities of Passau and Munich. Please follow the link to a German website describing the project in more detail.

EU research project BESST started

The EU-funded research project BESST (Breakthrough in European Ship and Shipbuilding Technologies) within the 7th Framework Programme has started. Within this project, Future-Shape will test the SensFloor® technology for security and safety applications in public rooms on a cruise ship. Partner is the MEYER WERFT Papenburg, Germany.

Techtextil 2009 in Frankfurt/Main

BASF is presenting ideas for innovative technical textiles at Techtextil 2009 in Frankfurt/Main, Germany on June 16 – 18 (Hall 3.0, Stand B79). As an outstanding example for printed Smart Textiles, Future-Shape’s SensFloor® will be demonstrated. On June 16, Christl Lauterbach will give a presentation at the Techtextil Symposium 2009, entitled: "SensFloor and NaviFloor – Large-area Smart Textiles".
