Robotics
People have long dreamed of having autonomous mobile robots to work for them at home,
at work or even in the public sphere. Despite tremendous advances in robot technology and research, this dream
has not yet become a widespread reality. One of the main reasons for this is the sheer complexity of real world
environments, which makes exacting demands of the robot's intelligence, robustness and information processing
capacity.
Future-Shape is working on solutions to reduce this complexity so that supportive robots
can at last become part of our everyday lives. The first step in this direction is to equip robots with a robust
allocentric self-localization and navigation system, an RFID floor. Future-Shape’s NaviFloor® provides a simple solution:
equipped with an RFID-Reader, a mobile robot or any other mobile object can determine its exact location on the
> NaviFloor® anytime.
Countless applications are possible, from cleaning, transportation, health care, fleet
management, guidance and surveillance to marketing and entertainment.
